Our terms, written to be read
What follows sets the ground rules for using this website and for the moving jobs Bob Haynes Piano Moving takes on throughout York County and beyond. We wrote it in everyday words. Put in for a quote or lock a booking, and these terms below are the ones you’re taking on.
Everything priced on paper
Not one binding estimate leaves this office unsigned — either Diane or I put pen to the printed copy myself. What that signed estimate says is what you settle up, and only three things can move it: items added to the inventory, an extra stop on the route, or a date change after the truck is already booked. Should that come up, a fresh figure goes on paper before a box gets touched. No meter ticking up, no line you didn’t see coming.
Backing out or shifting your date
- Three days’ lead or more — the full deposit comes right back to you.
- One to three days out — the deposit converts to a credit you can spend on any job booked inside twelve months.
- Under 24 hours — the deposit stays put, since holding your date meant turning other bookings away.
What’s covered, and your liability
Every shipment automatically includes the federal released-value minimum — $0.60 per pound, per article — at no extra charge whatsoever. Moving something valuable? Give us word ahead of the day and we’ll layer on full-value protection good for a load worth as much as $1,000,000. From the day the truck unloads, the window to file sits open for a full nine months.
Items that can’t go on the truck
Federal regulations and basic sense rule a few things out: no propane or gasoline, no live ammunition or loaded guns, no fireworks, no perishable food, no houseplants crossing state lines, and no cash or jewelry. Those you box up yourself and take along in your own car.
Getting the truck up to your door
At each end, holding a spot by the entrance falls to you — or give us a heads-up when a gravel farm lane, a tight sanctuary doorway, or a booked freight elevator is the only route in, and a shuttle comes along. A Pennsylvania snow or the occasional downpour, we work through at no added cost. On the cramped one-way blocks of downtown York, metered and permit parking falls to you unless we’ve put something else in writing.

Every word here — the route pages, the area write-ups, the rate tables — is ours, not yours to reuse. Feel free to link to whatever page here suits you; copying our copy onto a rival mover’s site is where the line is. Should a disagreement arise over any of this, Pennsylvania state law governs it.
